Dianna Basso (born 1982 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian animator and director. She was a director, animation lead and animator for Arc Productions. She was also a director for the television episodes at Jam Filled. She co-directed the nineteenth series with Don Spencer and David Stoten. She subsequently directed the twentieth, twenty-first, twenty-second and the twenty-third series with its standard-length episodes as the sole director. The twenty-third series specials on the other hand were directed by Joey So and Basso co-directed the twenty-fourth series with Ian Cherry whilst Joey So directed the specials from that series as well.

She is also an animator for King of the Railway, Tale of the Brave, the seventeenth and eighteenth series. She was animation lead for The Adventure Begins and a portion of the nineteenth series.

Trivia[]

  • Basso is the first woman ever to direct a Thomas & Friends episode. However, with movies included, she is the second woman to direct a Thomas & Friends production, the first being Britt Allcroft as she directed Thomas and the Magic Railroad.
