Disney Junior is an Australian pay television channel launched on 2005 as the localised variant of the American television network of the same name. Prior to its launch, Playhouse Disney's programming was shown on Disney Channel Australia from 9 am to 3 pm weekdays, and to 10 am.
On 1 September 2009, the channel started broadcasting in 16:9 widescreen. The channel was relaunched and rebranded as Disney Junior on 29 May 2011.
