"The Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends Video" is a Wiggles video all about Dorothy and The Wiggly Friends. It features clips from TV Series 2.

The video was a released on May 10, 1999, in between the releases of Toot Toot and The Wiggly Big Show.

The Wiggles don't appear in this video. However, the Wiggle Puppets do appear. However, you can hear The Wiggles themselves when they tell stories, sing in some songs, and are mentioned in parts of the video.

The video was re-released on June 12, 2000, with Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy! (Wiggle Puppets), Wake Up Jeff Medley Mix Up & Get Ready To Wiggle (Wiggle Puppets) Removed and segments from Imagination, Work and The Body added (the latter two additions also appeared in Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate). Move Your Arms Like Henry is re-edited, and features different effects, as well as shots added to make it appear that one of The Fishettes is singing the song. Song title cards similar to TV Series 2 and Toot Toot! replace the originals, or are added where there weren't ones before.

Trivia[]

  • The Wiggle Puppets get their first speaking role in Australia.
  • This is the first video that The Wiggles do not appear in. So, The Wiggle Puppets and Mascots appear instead.
  • It's also the first video to use Hanna-Barbera sound effects, not counting the video releases of The Wiggles Movie.
  • The newly filmed scenes with Dorothy were filmed in early 1999 during production of the 2nd half of TV Series 2.
  • The newly filmed scenes with The Wiggle Puppets, Dorothy, Iggy, Ziggy & Frank, The Underwater Big Band and Puppet Captain were filmed in May - August 1998 during production of the music video of Wigglemix, while the other newly filmed scenes with The Wiggle Puppets, The Underwater Big Band, Puppet Captain, Puppet Dorothy, Puppet Henry and Puppet Wags were filmed in early 1999 during production of the music videos of Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!, Wave to Wags, Wake Up Jeff Medley Mix Up, Move Your Arms Like Henry and Get Ready To Wiggle.
  • This video is related to Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate, where both videos feature highlights from Series 2, along with new framing material. The only difference is The Wiggles not being present in this video unlike the latter.
  • As such, The Wiggles only appear as puppets, and their voices are heard in one of the skits and are mentioned by Dorothy.
  • In 2000 a later release of the video exists, with the songs Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy!, Wake Up Jeff Medley Mix Up and Get Ready To Wiggle removed and segments from Imagination, Work and The Body added (the latter two additions also appeared in Captain Feathersword the Friendly Pirate). Move Your Arms Like Henry is re-edited, and features different effects, as well as shots added to make it appear that one of The Fishettes is singing the song. Song title cards similar to TV Series 2 and Toot Toot! replace the originals, or are added where there weren't ones before.
  • The puppet version of Henry the Octopus from TV Series 1 returns in this video, with a slight modification (his mouth is now closed and his eyes are a little different).
  • Two of the puppet songs, Wigglemix and Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy! (Puppet version), previously appeared in the American and UK versions of Yummy Yummy (1998 video) to replace Teddy Bear Hug and Numbers Rhumba.
  • Also, when Go Captain Feathersword, Ahoy! was put in the American and UK releases of Yummy Yummy, the splash sound effect was removed.
  • This is one of the few Wiggles videos that doesn't have a DVD release.
  • On the video's cover, Wags has his 2nd Costume, but has his 4th costume in the video itself.
  • Like the Dancing episode of TV Series 2, the part where Captain Feathersword fails to take The Wiggles photograph was cut out, both the parts with The Wiggles failed hat photograph, and Captain Feathersword's own teeth photograph were later put together in the Multicultural episode.
  • This video is yet to be uploaded on YouTube as part of Classic Wiggles.
